Hillsdale Lake

Drive south on I-35 to Hwy 169 South exit. (The exit is in Olathe and most of the signs direct you to Paola.) Drive south on 169 to the 255th Street exit. There is a brown Hillsdale Lake sign prior to the 255th Street exit. Turn right (west) on 255th street.

Drive west, straight though and beyond the town of Hillsdale and ignore all Hillsdale park signs until you find yourself driving across the lake dam causeway. Continue to drive west across the dam. You will pass a spillway on your right. (The Spillway is that big round thing with the pier sticking out into the lake.)

There will be a road on the left immediately past the spillway. You can see the airfield on the left from this point. Do not turn here. Continue about 1/2 mile west turn at the next left. You will follow this road to the airfield entrance which will be a small gated road on your right. The park charges admission of $5.00 per car. There is a drop box for your payment at this point. Continue past the drop box and turn left into the flying field road.

The gate to the actual airfield will be locked unil about 8:00 PM, but we will have people there to meet you by 7:30.  This is a one night event and is not a "campout".  There are restrooms on site, but the location is otherwise primative.
